Receipt of the tax collectors for Jews of Września

Józef Izaakowicz, the vice-trustee of Poznań, entered into the records the translation into Polish of a receipt signed in Krotoszyn in October 1701 by Fajbisz Mojżesz from Krotoszyn and Józef Samuel from Poznań, the tax collectors of the land elders. The collectors confirm that the Jews from Września paid 187 złp of the due sum of the first installment of the debt owed to the salt mine leaseholder, Grudziński. The land elders made an agreement with the salt mine leaseholder, according to which they were to pay the debt in two installments of 9000 złp. At the regional council of the elders from major cities, the tariff was approved for particular communities, according to the one established by the Crown elders and rabbis in 1700.
